What is 18 and 14 Karat Gold?
18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of another metal(s), making it 75% gold. 14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of another metal(s) making it 58.3% gold.
18 Karat gold is slightly softer and more easily scratched than 14 karat, but is richer in color and luster. However, neither of these will tarnish. Gold is the ultimate precious metal and its purity is always measured in karats, the purest being 24 karat. Gold of this purity, however, is impractical to wear as jewelry as it is very soft, can damage easily, and cannot maintain the delicate designs of our fine jewelry.
Solid gold is therefore combined with other alloys and is then measured as 10, 14 or 18 karat. This combination can be understood as a fraction; 10 karat is measured 10/24 or 416 parts gold per 1000 – 14 karat is 14/24 or 583 parts of gold per 1000 – 18 karat is 750 parts gold per 1000 parts.

Why Are Your Prices So Much Lower Than A Jewelry Store?
I don't have the overhead that a jewelry store does, no rent for a building, no utilities for the store, no display cases, etc. So, I do not have to mark the jewelry up like a store does. It is the same 18 Karat gold layered jewelry that you will find in fine jewelry stores.

Do You Insure Your Packages?
Yes, the insurance is included in the shipping and handling.

How long will Gold Layered jewelry last?
The point to remember is that gold, along with its other unique qualities, is virtually indestructible. Since, by law, you are guaranteed a substantial layer of gold on your Gold Layered jewelry, with reasonable care it will last a lifetime.

What are some of the advantages of Gold Layered?
It has been referred to as the Gold of the Future. Because it offers all the same physical characteristics as solid gold such as beauty, durability & strength, but at a fraction of the cost! Since the gold is in the outer area its nearly impossible to tell the difference between solid gold and Gold Layered.

How is Gold Layered made?
It is made by fusing a layer of Karat Gold to a suitable supporting metal (or alloy). The bonding produced is a permanent one.
top^
What is Solid Gold Layered Jewelry
It is made of a laminate of two metals: Solid Gold and an Alloy as a base. All of the outer surface of the base metal is covered with a thick solid laminate of gold.

Do You Make Refunds or Accept Returns?
Yes, I will accept returns within 48 hours after you receive it. Buyer will pay shipping and insurance to return. After I examine it to be sure that it is in the same condition as it was when it was shipped, I will refund the amount of purchase only. 18 Karat jewelry is very soft and can be easily damaged. If it is broken when you receive it, you would have to file a claim with the post office as it will be insured. Insurance is always included in the shipping & handling costs.

It it real gold?
Yes, it is real 18 Karat gold layered 3 times. 18 Karat gold is too soft to have it solid. Really there is no such thing as solid gold jewelry, it all layered over some type of metal. This is base metal, two layers of copper and 3 layers of 18 Karat gold. Super Fine Jewelry! This conforms to Government Regulations.

What is Gold Plated Jewelry
Most costume jewelry that is marked “Gold Flash” or left unmarked, is plated two to four microinches of gold, over bright nickel. While most decorative deposits are two to four microinches thick, there are some thicknesses of seven to about 30 microinches. These finishes are also plated over bright nickel, although sometimes over silver, and are marked “Gold Electroplated.” Gold deposits over 100 microinches thick earn the designation “Heavy Gold Electroplate.”
